CHADO is a pioneer in natural and non-toxic make-up care ingredients. Created by Sylvia Rossel in 2015, the brand name is a contraction of the two first names of her daughter Charlotte-Dolores, and was also inspired by the Japanese word which means traditional Japanese tea art ceremony. The Japanese pride themselves on the art of tea making and Sylvia applies this same approach to her beauty products – to offer clean beauty that is free from animal cruelty.
During her earlier days in the US, she developed an interest in cosmetics, establishing several brands in the US market. Eventually, she returned to Switzerland in 2008 to launch the first ever affordable luxury vegan brand. Her vision was to create innovative make-up that is produced ethically and also deemed as environmentally-conscious.
Being an active mother and conscious of the modern woman, she sought to offer a high quality, simple, and natural cosmetic solution for the eyebrow, a feature typically overlooked. Simple is better and it was this philosophy that guided her to focus on this feature that she believes gives balance to the face. Now, the brand has expanded into skin care, foundation, and eye make-up.
CHADO products are created with highly innovative formulas that offer textures and pigments that enhance one’s natural beauty with effective results. The main ingredient in CHADO is the PhytoCellTec™ Malus Domestica, a Swiss bio-technological process made from the Uttwiler Spätlauber, an ancient Swiss apple species. These active ingredients increase the vitality and the longevity of epidermal stem cells, slowing down their ageing.
CHADO is currently sold throughout Europe’s most exclusive addresses and discerning clientele like the Palace Hotel and Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva, Switzerland.
